Listen to Bob Moses’ seminal sophomore studio album, ‘Battle Lines’

Bob Moses is musical brainchild of Los Angeles-based duo of Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance, Since stepping onto the scene in 2012, they’ve gone onto earn two Grammy nods for their debut Days Gone By LP, actually winning one in a RAC remix of the album’s track, “Tearing Me Up.” Suffice it to say, the Canadian duo is one name in electronic music that needs little introduction.

After nearly one year since their debut album release, Bob Moses returns to the limelight with their seminal sophomore studio album, entitled Battle Lines. Spanning 11 tracks in length, the album is an intelligent commentary on the abounding lower-level internal emotions that surround us in our day and age of latent capitalism — touching on everything from our frustrations, fears, doubts, confusions, sadness, and anger. As young producers who dabbled in the sounds of California punk, Northwest grunge, and minimalist electronic, it’s hardly surprising that a full-length album would follow similar themes.

“This record is about the battles and struggles we all live through,” the duo said in a press statement, “battles within ourselves, battles with and within our society, battles between each other, with our loved ones, battles between ideologies. It’s also about struggling to identify where those battles lines start and end, and what within us and within our environments cause these struggles, and ultimately cause our suffering. It’s also about the struggle to reconcile with those things, somehow.”

Bob Moses will embark on an international album-accompanying tour this September, with dates running through February of 2019.
