RL Grime – Era (1788-L Remix)

Coming off the success of his No. 1 Billboard Dance album NOVA, RL Grime is now gearing up for the album’s remix package release — or releases, rather. The titan of trap plans to release two full albums over two weeks, with the first arriving tomorrow, December 7. Among the countless talented dance producers contributing to the album is the enigmatic newcomer 1788-L. In anticipation of tomorrow’s release, RL Grime has enlisted the glitched-out stylings of the former REZZ collaborator on the track “Era.”

Known for his popular remixes of some already-massive tracks, 1788-L takes a much heavier approach to trap music than RL Grime. So you can imagine the young gun’s take on “Era” is quite aggressive. 1788-L dresses the track up in his usual heavy, tempo-tattered dubstep and then lays it all down with psybass between the song’s builds. It’s a direction we haven’t yet seen of the Dallas-based producer, whose just returned from supporting Ekali and REZZ on their respective upcoming tours.
