Bluntz & Blondes still fighting to clear his name [WATCH]

In 2022, Blunts & Blondes (Michael Guard) found himself at the center of serious allegations that turned his world upside down. Almost overnight, his name was dragged through the mud, and his career came to a screeching halt. Promoters dropped him, festivals distanced themselves, and fans were left to piece together what little information was available.

Fast forward to now, and Guard is finally speaking out. According to him, all criminal charges were dropped after prosecutors determined that the accusations against him were false. Despite that, the damage had already been done. Even with legal vindication, he’s still blacklisted from the EDM scene. Promoters are too scared to book him, and his reputation is in shambles.

What makes this situation even messier is Guard’s own response. He’s not pretending to be perfect—he’s owning up to past behaviors that may have contributed to the way people viewed him. He’s apologizing where necessary but standing firm on his innocence when it comes to the accusations that nearly ended his career.

This is cancel culture at its most unforgiving. Even when the legal system clears someone, the court of public opinion isn’t as quick to change its mind. Once an artist is marked as “problematic,” it’s nearly impossible to recover, even if they have the receipts to prove their innocence. The conversation around accountability in the music industry is important, but so is the recognition that not all accusations hold up under scrutiny.

At what point do we allow someone to move forward? And how do we navigate a culture where an accusation alone can destroy a career, even after the truth comes out? Blunts & Blondes’ story is a brutal reminder that in today’s industry, an artist’s fate shouldn’t be in the hands of a trial-by-social media jury.
