Day two of Sunset Music Festival canceled amid Tropical Storm Alberto warnings
Tampa is certainly accustomed to tropical storms during this time of year. However, organizers of Sunset Music Festival, a two-day Disco Donnie-produced event, couldn’t have expected that they’d be forced to cancel their annual Memorial Day Weekend extravaganza.
Tampa Sports Authority, in conjunction with the Tampa Police Department and Tampa Fire & Rescue, officially issued the decision as heavy rains and high winds threatened crowd safety. While the decision to cancel the entire second day of the festival was completely out of SMF’s hands, refunds are being issued to attendees soon. In addition, a tropical storm warning has just been issued for the Tampa area.
Scheduled headliners for 2018 included REZZ, Marshmello, Excision, and 3LAU.
