Lido delivers stunning R&B-influenced EP, ‘IOU1’

A the son of a gospel choir director, Norwegian artist and multi-instrumentalist Lido has been using his classical training on the drums and piano since the age of 16. After launching his rap career at the same age, he took a turn towards indietronica production and remixing mellow hip-hop takes on Justin Timberlake and The Weeknd. He’s produced records for Chance The Rapper and Halsey, in addition to a slew of his own albums, EPs, and mixtapes.

Arriving as his fifth extended play project, Lido’s I O U 1 is a 5-track journey into the emotional side of R&B mixed with the experimental sound designs of IDM. From the radio-ready appeal of “Outstanding” to the layered vocals of the Unge Ferrari-assisted “Corner Love,” Lido’s newest EP is the perfect encapsulation of his signature experimental flair.
