Barclay Crenshaw releases ‘Transmission 004’ mixtape
DIRTYBIRD certainly isn’t Claude VonStroke‘s only venture. The label head honcho has been busy making waves in the bass music world with his glitchy, experimentally-driven alter ego, Barclay Crenshaw. He’s stollen the minds of his crowd at events like Bassnectar’s BassCenter XI, Electric Forest, and has begun to develop a whole wormhole of similar sounding artists at his Dirtybird Campouts, inviting EPROM, kLL sMTH, Yheti, and Toadface into his bass repertoire.
Now Barclay Crenshaw has released the fourth transmission in his mixtape series and it’s every bit as weird and wonky as one might think. If there’s one thing Claude VonStroke has become known for, it’s his effortless mastery of all forms of electronic music. He’s merely proving to the left-field bass music aficionados just how weird and wonderful he can be.
Crenshaw truly tells an outer worldly story with each of his releases, as he writes of his mixtape,
Humans slowly wake from a comatose holiday state as the twilight of the calendar year still reverberates across the globe. Now, more than ever we are susceptible to dark influences from other dimensions. Do not leave your guard down. Do not accept the company line that is being fed to you by the reptilian government. Shield yourself with the protective bass waves of Transmission 004. There is still hope.
