Calling all producers: RL Grimes’ new label is accepting applications

This week, RL Grime announced the formation of his newly-minted imprint. He’s calling the label Sable Valley and it represents the next step in his burgeoning career.

The California-based producer self-released both his debut VOID LP and his sophomore follow-up, NOVA. So it’s safe to say he knows a thing or two about releasing music and running a promotion cycle. And with the double-sided release of his NOVA Remixes album, it’s clear that RL Grime wants to spotlight new talent.

Today, Sable Valley has announced that the label is accepting demo submissions for membership. The application process has a clear sense of humor with questions like, “how many cups of water do you drink a day?”

RL Grime will launch the label tomorrow, Febuary 6, with his highly-anticipated collaboration with graves, titled “Arcus.” graves is officially the label’s first signee.
