MUST LISTEN: Duke & Jones share dreamy new single ‘synthetic’

After gaining some notoriety with a pair of notable remixes, rising duo Duke & Jones have released their first single of the year, titled “Synthetic.” Last year, the Manchester-based production pair were able to drop off hard-hitting remixes for Zeds Dead and Jauz as well as Zedd, gaining traction with each release.

The British duo have opted for a stylistic change on “Synthetic,” as the track is more ambient and ethereal than their other work. It retains some of the dark, haunting tones that have seemed to characterize their releases so far, but opts for a more retro sound. This piece would be at home in a suspenseful 80’s movie and features urgent, rhythmic synthesizer work and a simple vocal chop to build tension.

The track showcases the duo’s versatility and willingness to branch out, and it’ll be interesting to see which direction they choose to take their talents next.
