Yotto releases ‘Shifter’ to celebrate new label launch, Odd One Out
Anjunadeep mainstay Yotto has made quite the dent on the progressive sector of dance music. After years of amassing a masterful catalog on the imprint — one that fuses tech and house with a more chill, organic sentimentality — the time has come for the Finnish producer to step out on his own. He’s taking the next career leap by establishing his very own independent recording label, dubbed Odd One Out.
The idea behind the name stems from the producer’s overall outlook on life and approach to music production, in which he feels like he’s always been the outsider.
“I strongly believe that nobody could do a worse job running a record label than me,” says Yotto of the launch. “To make sure I stay ahead of the competition in terms of idiocy and surreal zookeeping, I present Odd One Out – an amalgamation of galactic chase scene soundtracks and sunshine-inspired techno blues. We are all odd ones out there – this music is for the outsiders.”
To celebrate the launch, Yotto is releasing his newly-formed imprint’s very first single in “Shifter.” Coming as an extended 7-minute track, “Shifter” concretizes Yotto’s melodious, tech-driven landscape as he switches fluidly between uplifting, atmospheric tones and dark, industrial beats. The track duly establishes the refreshingly unorthodox compositions fans can expect from his new label home.
The label launch coincides with brand new dates for Yotto’s upcoming world tour, which begins tomorrow, July 26. Stream the track, watch the official announcement, and view Yotto’s upcoming tour dates below.
