Listen to An-Ten-Nae’s ‘Kayu’ from Gravitas’ incoming ‘Circulate Vol. 1’ compilation
When it comes to record label rosters, Gravitas Recordings boasts one of our favorites for world and bass artists. No wonder then how the Austin-based manages an output of impressive compilation albums time and time again. Comprised of psybass acts like Psymbionic, Of The Trees, Au5, Zebbler Encanti Experience, and countless others, the collective are also no strangers to giving back.
Now the label has announced an upcoming charity compilation, Circulate Vol. 1, curated by David Starfire and SOOHAN. The project is a world bass compilation landing on August 15 with remixes, original tracks, and collaborations from label favorites CloZee, Beats Antique, Desert Dwellers, and more. One hundred percent of net proceeds will be donated to Beyond the Grade, a grassroots not-for-profit Austin-based charity that provides after school music education for underserved children.
To celebrate, Gravitas is releasing three singles from the project over the next few weeks. First up is An-Ten-Nae‘s “Kayu,” an infusion of tribal bass and eastern/world elements that slowly builds with a series of acoustic guitar plucks, off-kilter percussion, and indigenous vocal sampling. The result is a soothing production that will put listeners in a five-minute trance of self-reflection and meditation. An-Ten-Nae is no stranger to weaving soothing sonic tapestries and if the track is any indication of what’s to come, Circulate Vol. 1 will be moving audiences into new states of ambient bliss.
