13th annual Gem & Jam returns from hiatus with phase one line-up: Tipper, Big Gigantic, Desert Hearts, more
Arizona’s premier gem and mineral focused music festival is back on for next year. Gem & Jam Festival took a break in 2019 for a little regrouping and recouping. Now the three-day event is back and better than ever. Taking place on January 31 – February 2 at the beautiful Pima County Fairgrounds, Gem & Jam is a warm wintertime event that embraces transcendent art, music, minerals, and more.
The family-friendly event just released an impressive phase one lineup that is shaping up like it’s going to sweep fans off their feet. Featuring acts like Tipper, Big Gigantic, Twiddle, Billy Strings, and The Floozies as headliners, along with Buku, Bluetech, Mersiv, Mystic Grizzly, and many more on the undercard, the stage acts sit at the sweet spot between conscious bass and jamtronica. In the spirit of collaboration, there will be a Desert Hearts takeover, along with a special rare performance from TH3, which feature three members of The String Cheese Incident and Matt Hill of The Floozies.
While this is just phase one of the line-up, the festival still has much more in store for festival-goers. Expect late-night sets, gem and mineral exhibits, art galleries, painters, dancers, daytime workshops, and more! The festival is the perfect opportunity for lovers of art and the earth to come together and celebrate. There will be an extensive marketplace for vendors as well as plenty of camping options.
“We are beyond excited to be able to bring Gem & Jam back for an epic three nights in the desert,” says festival co-producer Josh Pollack. “We have the best fans out there and cannot wait to share all we have planned for 2020.”
Gem and Jam is far off the beaten path from so many mainstream dance music festivals because the gathering is so much more than just the music. Not only does the festival center its gathering around the earth by hosting during the world’s largest gem and mineral trade show, they also host a healing sanctuary, workshops, and plenty of incredible live artists and performance art.
