STS9 announces new ‘Vision Tapes’ series + four-night run at Belly Up Aspen

For anyone whose gone to a Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9) event recently, this newly-released “Vision Tapes” tune is likely to ring a bell. Over the past few years, the jamtronica six-piece has been pulling deep into their discography to form new mixes and mash-ups for their live performances. “It’s been a lot of fun exploring the threads that connect all of the music we’ve made together,” says STS9 over their Facebook.

That being said, the band has collectively decided to release these various tracks in a brand new series they’re calling “Vision Tapes.” Think of these less as actual singles and more like extended bootlegs, reworks, mash-up tracks, or even chapters in a story. Or in STS9’s words, “a musical collage highlight from throughout 2020.”

The first chapter in the story: “When the Dust Settles Reprise > Tooth.”

The news comes on the heels of their Belly Up announcement, in which STS9 will bring four special nights to Aspen, Colorado, February 14-17, 2020. Presale tickets are already on sale today exclusively for Bandcamp subscribers. Regular on-sale begins this Friday, December 13, at 10 am MT.

Also, don’t forget about STS9’s five-night New Year’s Eve run in Atlanta.
