Here at Conscious Electronic, we’ve been long supporters of Matthew Lucas, known to his seismically growing fanbase as PEEKABOO. So much so that we named Lucas on of 2019’s Artists To Watch. The heavy bass producer certainly did not underperform either. With countless 2019 music festival appearances under his belt this year like Ultra, Lost Lands, and Electric Zoo, PEEKABOO has gone onto release another collaboration with Bassnectar, an official remix for deadmau5, as well as tracks on Wakaan and Deadbeats.
Coming off his popular second mixtape installment, HIDE AND SEEK, PEEKABOO now situates himself to end 2019 with a bang that will reverberate across the bass music Richter scale. The breakout bass star now unleashes his Impossible EP, marking his second release of the year on the illustrious Deadbeats Records.
PEEKABOO says of the EP: “these tracks are some of my favorite that I’ve ever done, and a ton of work went into them. thank you all for an incredible 2019, i can’t wait to show you all what i have in store for 2020!”
All in all, the EP delivers every bit of what fans have come to crave about PEEKABOO’s soul-crushing beats. “Impossible” brings forth those eerily menacing sounds with slow dripping bass lines. “Nut Case” offers up face-scrunching sequences. “Rock The House” changes up the pace with uptempo action in the bpm of house music, until the last minute when he shocks listeners into submission with gooey low-end sub bass. To close it all out, “Smack” does that what it’s title promises, delivering head-banging pandemonium.
It’s no secret that PEEKABOO has been on a pace this year that is unrelenting and almost, well, impossible. In that vein, the EP’s title couldn’t be a more suiting testament that sentiment.
To coincide with the EP release, PEEKABOO is embarking on his debut headlining tour by the same name. The Impossible tour kicks off in January with support from Moody Good, Zeke Beats, and ISOxo, with special guest Truth.
Tickets are available now on PEEKABOO’s official website.
