Vincent Antone pays homage to the classic sounds of funk and soul on ‘No Turning Back’ EP

A cornerstone figure in the Austin music scene, Vincent Antone Seidl is a multi-instrumentalist and hybrid-electronic producer transcending genre. He’s proficient at guitar, piano and keys, bass, and drums, and has studied music theory and sound design. Inspired by a tapestry of genres explored through the lens of dance music, the Texas producer’s style is defined by funk, hip-hop, soul, and future bass.

As the former architect of sound for the three-piece live-electronic ensemble Resonant Frequency, Seidl is now primed for the release his No Turning Back EP. Clocking in at four tracks in length, No Turning Back is every bit as resilient and versatile as it is lively and effervescent. This is one project that holds a deep reverence for the process as well, all while having fun at every turn.

“With this record, I tried to pay homage to the classic sounds of funk and soul from the past, while incorporating modern production styles and sounds from the future, in order to create a sound of right now,” he says of the EP.

Following that same algorithm, the entire EP is funky as hell and accented with third-coast hip-hop aromas. The genesis of a new era for the creator has just begun with the four-track short player. No wonder he’s dubbed the project No Turning Back.

Vincent has performed at Austin City Limits, Euphoria, Wakarusa, Breakaway, Art Outside, and more. He’s also opened for the likes of Pretty Lights, Gramatik, Goldfish, OPIUO, Cherub, EOTO, Exmag, and many more. Be on the lookout for this untethered visionary rising up in the jamtronica scene.
