‘I’ve been to too many 90s warehouse raves to let a virus named after a beer stop me now’: These Miami Music Week events are still on

In the midst of all this current coronavirus pandemic, which has led to the cancellations of major festivals like SXSW, Tomorrowland Winter, and Ultra Miami, there’s always a light shining in the darkness of a full-on media scare. There is a meme circulating online that reads: “I’ve been to too many 90s warehouse raves to let a virus named after a beer stop me now.” In the wake of local officials declaring states of emergency and shutting down large-scale event, it’s nice to know dance music fans aren’t completely feeding into frenzied fear campaigns.

Miami Music Week (MMW) is one such city-wide event, which takes place in tandem with the Winter Music Conference in the week leading up to Ultra Music Festival. While some MMW cancellations are still likely, EDM Tunes reached out to a pretty exhaustive list of event promoters for an update on their MMW events. So even if Miami is still on your travel plans, there’s still plenty to do in the city to keep your dance music pallet satiated. Plus, these events are where the real EDM insiders can be found, so who knows, maybe this Ultra cancellation is a pure blessing in disguise.
