In the new age of online music festivals, Digital Mirage now sets the bar. That’s saying a lot considering how Insomniac’s Virtual Rave-A-Thons and Beaport‘s ReConnect were massive successes in their own right. Over the course of three days, April 3-5, Digital Mirage raised around $300,000 for Sweet Relief‘s COVID-19 fund. The goal of the fund is to provide financial relief to music industry professionals whose primary source of income has been drastically altered by the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

Brownies & Lemonade, Proximity, Trap Nation, and everyone who participated in throwing the event were shocked themselves to see fans, who are undergoing hard times themselves, band together and chip in money. Thankfully, now fans can relive sets from their favorite artists as artists’ sets begin pouring in online. With sets from Alison Wonderland, Adventure Club, Arty, Dab The Sky, G Jones, SHADES, Kaskade, and many more, we may very well be looking at the future of music… at least in the undefined short term.

Not only is the Coronavirus pandemic changing the way global citizens go about their everyday lives, the virus has created a seismic shift in rearranging how humans go about enjoying live music. On the weekend, now dance music fanatics gather from around the world onto the live stream. It’s a digital revolution in itself.
