With Electric Forest‘s would-be tenth anniversary coming up this weekend, June 25 – 28, fans from all over the world will instead be hunkering down inside as COVID-19 continues rearing its ugly head. The festival has had no shortage of roadblocks that ultimately led to their decision to halt the Rothbury, Michigan event—from petitioning to be pushed until September, to having that motion turned down by the Rothbury Village Council, to the eventual cancellation of their 2020 dates. As it becomes ever-increasingly clear that 2020 is canceled, Electric Forest HQ is turning to the live stream format like so many others.
Introducing: The Forest Family Camp In, the latest in the EF Home Project series. Challenging all Forest Family to set up tents or Forest forts, string up lights, tapestries, and re-create favorite Forest features. The virtual event, which will take place this weekend, will feature sets from The String Cheese Incident, STS9, Subtronics, Mr. Carmack, Louis the Child, Anna Lunoe, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Dr. Fresch, The Floozies, and so many more. The four-day event will also feature favorite sets from Forest’s past, Fresh Takes, a slate of special programming, and so much more.
“Between the hand-washing, protesting, learning new skills, and spending time with loved ones, let’s reconnect with The Forest Family virtually,” said Electric forest organizers on their website. “Though we can’t travel to Rothbury to get lost in The Forest together, we can bring the feeling of The Forest into our homes and our minds.”
HQ is encouraging the Forest Family to fill up the coolers, charge up the speakers, and create a setting for the greatest at-home camp-IN in Forest history. Tune into EF Radio all weekend long and view the jam-packed schedule below.
