Level Up releases her biting bass tune ‘BedTime Stories’ on GRVDNCR
Growing up in Los Angeles, Level Up (aka Sonya Broner) got her start in music by exploring the underground scene of New York City. She went on to study turntablism with legend Rob Swift and began traversing the city boroughs as a scratch-battle DJ. Not to mention, she’s dating Subtronics. A rare female producer in the bass music game, Level Up now releases her highly anticipated bass-heavy track, “Bedtime Stories,” on the GRVDNCR label.
Eerily melodic and gritty to its core, “Bedtime Stories” will keep listeners on edge with its playful melody, mysterious vocal samples, and hard-hitting bass. Level Up says on the tune: “‘BedTime Stories’ is inspired by one of the things that makes me feel most at peace – scary movies. My goal was to create a song that would make you feel like you’re in your own haunted story.”
Level Up was drawn to dubstep from the moment she heard it, citing Rusko, Caspa and Skream as influences during the creation of her unique wonky style. Recently, she’s decided to go full throttle with her career and pursue DJing and electronic music production. She has since gone on a national tour with Subtronics, graced the stages of Lost Lands, Electric Forest, and High Caliber, and is currently working on new music.
A conscious way to consume EDM.
