MEMBA – Strider
MEMBA, the New York duo founded by Ishaan Chaudhary and Will Curry, is back with a new single for ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective. Taking influences from around the globe for their rich electronic sound, they follow up on the epic SAGA EP series, with the collections dropping in 2018 and 2019, respectively, and SAGA-II featuring a full visual film. 2019’s “For Aisha” sits at over 7 million streams and is featured in the Netflix film, The Sky Is Pink.
“Strider” blends drifting vocals with a distinctive guitar hook. Wrapped up in their signature textures and waves, the pair showcases precise rhythmicality and soul-searching emotion within its essence. They reveal of the track, “We were on a kayak trip paddles in stride, when the idea hit. Went home and recorded the wonky guitar intro instantly. The rest took a lot of trial and error and a trip to LA to finish.”
The past few years have seen MEMBA play the likes of Coachella, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest and Glastonbury amongst may more, and play their own tour alongside supporting ODESZA, Jai Wolf, Hermitude, and CloZee. Work is well underway for a live multisensory performance to hit the road, and this will take place once the current climate recovers.
