Seismic Dance Event hopes to return May 2021 with star-studded house & techno lineup

Claude VonStroke, Charlotte de Witte, Tchami, Bob Moses, Phantoms, and more are slotted for the speculative in-person spring edition of the festival, set to take place over the weekend of May 21-23 in Austin, Texas.

After a year that strained not only the music business but industries all over the world, and subsequently the people who rely on them, 2021 looks to be a real beacon of light. With the hope augmented by a new Biden administration and a Save our Stages relief bill passed in the newest stimulus package, the future certainly seems a little less bleak.

It suffices to say that the live entertainment sector is among those to take the biggest hit from the COVID-19 disaster, canceling and postponing scores of shows and festivals indefinitely. For nearly a year, artists, touring agencies, booking and promotion companies, and would-be attendees have been floundering with no concrete end in sight, until recently. New predictions from Dr. Fauci shed some much-welcomed insight onto a potential “light at the end of the dark tunnel” for a safe return to live performances. Fauci stated that herd immunity would be achievable with the vaccine roll-out and that the live performing arts could foreseeably return by the fall of 2021.

While many festivals like Coachella have taken the que and prepare to postpone to later this year, Seismic Dance Event has released an optimistic announcement for a Spring return of their third annual rendition, coming in hot with a star-studded lineup already curated and ready to go for this May. Having had to postpone two events last year, Seismic’s parent company RealMusic Events appears eager to recoup the loss by making moves time and space-wise.

Adding an additional day, the event will take place over three days at a new seven-acre venue near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport with a maximum capacity of 2,500 attendees. RealMusic Events states that it will follow both the Texas and CDC guidelines for outdoor gatherings, including health screening check-in, mask requirement, touch-point hand-wash, and sanitation stations, and enforced social distancing. Back up plan? The organizers have detailed a clear and flexible refund policy with potential postponement dates in November in case all does not go according to plan.

“Seismic has always been an intimate boutique festival which is so crucial for that really special niche vibe, but it also plays in our favor in terms of the feasibility of our event taking place in May.”

Kelly Gray, RealMusic Events co-founder

Leading the way on the house-heavy lineup are big names Claude VonStroke, Charlotte de Witte, and Tchami, adding credibility and confidence to the likelihood of the festival’s fruition. Other notable artists include Richie Hawtin, Phantoms, Walker & Royce, Sasha Robotti, Nicole Moudaber, SIDEPEICE, The Martinez Brothers, and more.
