Benji Robot kicks off forthcoming EP on Mean Mug with ‘Cherry Blossom’ [WATCH]
For those paying attention, Benji Robot has been a rising artist to look out for in the underground bass world. From his debut album, Sedona, to his Kutz EP, both released last year, we’ve certainly been noticing this promising newcomer with keen ears and watchful eyes. Mean Mug Music has as well, which is why the label collective snatched Benjamin Roman up recently and for good measure. Ahead of his newest EP, set to land on March 2, Benji Robot has just released a slippery bass gem in the EP’s title track, “Cherry Blossom.”
Just like it sounds, “Cherry Blossom” is a blossoming track that’s a little bit sweet and a little sour. As the track opens up gradually over the course of its five-minute duration, Roman gives his fans delightful tastes of his budding sound design. Filled with blistering bass lines, squelching synths, crispy clean beat work, and cerebral signatures, this track is a pocket full of treats for any lover of left-field, freestyle bass music. If “Cherry Blossom” is any indication of what to expect out of this Mean Mug artist’s forthcoming EP, March 2 can’t come soon enough. Thankfully, that comes out to only a week’s time and that’s a good thing because fans will be chomping at the bit for more.
For the track’s official music video, Benji Robot has also enlisted the ever-talented self-starter DATA_BYTE, who made CE‘s Top Visual Artists shortlist last year. Be sure to listen and watch below.
