Dimond Saints cook up hypnotic low-tempo remix of Eko Zu & Kraddy’s ‘Like a Feather’ ft. KillWill [PREMIERE]
Together, Eko Zu and KRADDY are local heroes of the Greater Los Angeles metroplex. Boasting sounds that build uniquely off one another, the labelmates got together two months ago on the track “Like a Feather,” which boasts the impassioned vocals of KillWill. Eko Zu builds the song around his heartfelt melodies and ethereal soundscapes with KRADDY unleashing on the heavier drops. Now the Mother Wolf Records artists have come together on a massive remix package for the record, out everywhere tomorrow, March 12.
Until then, we’re thrilled to premiere the last remix ahead of tomorrow’s wide release from Dimond Saints. Represented by Warpath, this duo’s sound falls right in line with the kind of low-frequency, low-reverb, low-tempo gems that this left-field collective is known for mustering up in the studio. Suffice it to say, Dimond Saints lay down the bass like thick butter in their “Like a Feather” remix and the result is more savory than slow-cooked veal in a white wine reduction.
The remix is both mellow and hypnotic and slices right to the soul; all while easing listeners into a slow, low-moving bass line with gritty synths. This is one treatment that’ll leave you asking yourself “where your mind went” during the course of the three-minute listening span. After all, what is good bass music if it doesn’t tune you out of the world and straight into your body?
The forthcoming compilation contains remixes of world-renowned artists such as Opiuo, Champagne Drip, Ill.Gates, and more of the Mother Wolf recording family. Flexing their strengths together as a label, the remix project promises to bring in a variety of genres from artists who have helped to shape the genres of glitch hop, leftfield bass, techno, and drum & bass.
