BPMTronic fully delivers the Detroit techno funk on debut album, ‘Volume 1’
Black Planet Music is the name and Detroit techno is PapaSean’s game. Straight from the mind, heart, and soul of Detroit-based producer BPMTronic comes his debut album, Volume 1. Clocking in at seven tracks in length, this collection is an invigorating collection is a tantalizing mix of funk and techno tracks designed to keep you on the dance floor. With features from vocalist Sherry Vachon, Volume 1 not only has snippets of daydreaming about the reopening of nightclubs, but has hardcore techno fans excited for what is sure to follow from this talented producer.
From the LP opener, “Time Has Come,” to “TranceFunk” and “Bump da Bump” and their blending of techno with funk, to the 80s-synth-led closer track, “Toe2Toe,” this first installment knows the precise sounds that percolate across the Detroit electronic sonic landscape. The result is a fun-loving and well engineered piece of work that maintains the lightheartedness of funk, and the bpm of techno without all the dark energy.
BPMTronic is the Techno-Electronic-Dance department of BPMusic-Detroit, specializing in funky, driving, and infectious beats written and produced by PapaSean for your listening pleasure. Sean “PapaSean” Franklin has been producing Funk, Rock, Pop, Rap, Smooth Jazz and Techno genres via the family of musicians and artists, collectively known as BlackPlanetMusic-Detroit for over twenty years. For anyone who has heard BPM’s most popular release, “Out With The Old” on the Tony Hawk ProSkater 2 video game, they’ll tell you that BPM is an icon of the Detroit electronic scene, and BPMTronic is the latest in an exciting lineup of musical projects.
