MorFlo boss Mersiv crafts expansive atmospheres on upcoming LP’s pilot single, ‘Floating Underwater Above the Clouds’

Denver’s Mersiv (aka Anderson Gallegos) has never been one to shy away from the release radar. When he’s not busy on his usual shred for Wakaan, the MorFlo Records head is releasing under his own imprint any chance he can get. Just over a month since his joint EP release with Smoakland, Mersiv returns to his imprint with a gorgeously ethereal track that feels ever-expanding in the way it feels like one is ascending into the heavens.

Appropriately titled “Floating Underwater Above the Clouds,” the track spans a journey-filled ride through space-time that’s just under five minutes. Listeners get a taste Gallegos’ gorgeous ability to create ambient atmospheres, colorfully melodious textures, and a vibrance that only Mersiv can muster up in his design. At times soothing and downtempo, at others elating, dubby, and verbose, yet always complexly layered and moving into bigger, more expansive sonic spaces, this is a track that builds to perfection.

Without a doubt, “Floating Underwater Above the Clouds” is built for the live stage where it hardly goes without saying that Mersiv fans are just itching to hear live.
