Zeds Dead share highly-anticipated Blanke collaboration, ‘The Machines’
Re-popularizing the vintage dubstep genre in the late aughts out of Toronto, Zeds Dead has helped define North American bass music sound. Generations of artists count the Canadian duo among their biggest inspirations, so it’s a wonder why Zeds Dead and BLANKE have never teamed up before now. After all, their sounds go together like peanut butter and jelly.
Fresh off the Deadbeats release from his DnB alias, ÆON:TWO, BLANKE joins the Toronto boys to release “The Machines,” a highly-anticipated set ID and long-overdue collaboration. DC & Hooks recently played the track live with BLANKE at Red Rocks, and are looking to continue their hot 2022 with their heaviest banger of the year.
“The Machines” marks the fourth official release from Zeds Dead this year, following up a collab with Blunts & Blondes, “Think of You,” as well as acclaimed singles “I Took A Ride” & “In My Head.” Previous singles have offered fans more in the direction of their new sub-label, Altered States, which navigates house, downtempo, and dubstep adjacent genres.
Further cementing their status as bass music’s finest, Zeds Dead took over Denver this past 4th of July weekend for a five-set, three-night run in Denver, the unofficial bass music capital of America. The annual event not only included sold-out, back-to-back nights at Red Rocks, but an outdoor Jamboree and 2-set gig at the renowned Mission Ballroom.
