RL Grime drops another bomb with his coveted seasonal mixtape, ‘Halloween XI: Dead Space’
Perhaps the best thing about spooky season, at least for the “EDM heads” of the world, is RL Grime‘s coveted Halloween mix. The Sable Valley head honcho has delivered another ferocious mixtape journey in his typical annual fashion, which is named after his Halloween event that took place inside Los Angeles’ Kia Forum. While there, RL Grime debuted the mix live to a packed-out stadium.
Clocking in at an hour and seventeen minutes, making it his longest Halloween mix yet, fans can expect to see RL Grime branching his styles into the techno and drum-and-bass realms, while also holding close to his trap, hip-hop, and paralytic bass signatures. Perhaps the best part about the mix is RL’s expertly effortless builds— he lets his listeners breathe before steadily bringing them back up steadily and blasting them away again.
In addition to the plentiful IDs weaved into the mix, fans can always count on RL Grime for his intentional collaborators and special guests from year to year. For Halloween XI, he’s brought in a cast of characters new and old: voice actor Jake Foushee from the animated Transformers series, famous sports announcer Bruce Buffer, the voice-over character behind “let’s get ready to rumble,” and of course, Goosebumps author R.L Stine.
RL Grime is heading out to Oakland, California, for Porter Robinson’s Second Sky Festival this weekend, where fans can expect the Sable Valley boss to be dropping tasty treats from the mixtape.
