Deadbeats favorite Chee teases upcoming EP with innovative second single, ‘Act Like You Know’

After only a few years of honing his craft, South African producer CHEE erupted into the international bass and experimental music scene. Once his music began circulating, CHEE’s sonic innovation and advanced production skills quickly earned him the attention of Zeds Dead‘s DC and Hooks. The Canadian dubstep juggernauts quickly latched onto the hotly rising star of the bass music world, inviting CHEE on for a guest mix series spot on their premiere label, Deadbeats Records.

After several Deadbeats Radio mixes on the books, an inclusion on We Are Deadbeats Vol. 4(Deluxe), countless single releases, and two EPs later, the burgeoning Philly-based music maker now prepares for his next short player on the eminent label. As he continues to build to the project’s February 2023 release, Chee now releases the EP’s second single, “Act Like You Know.”

“Act Like You Know” showcases the producer’s signature swooping basslines, fitted around a sinister hip-hop beat, and a sneaky synth melody that slowly evolves through the track. The release features artwork designed by Chee and visuals inspired by the personal imagery.
