Alex Poet releases his first single of 2024 with deliciously quick track, ‘Deezire’
Calling all fans of the late, great “Godfather of House,” Frankie Knuckles!
The now-deceased Chicago house icon may have seen his untimely passing a decade ago, but his influence lives on in the musical output of rising house producers like Brazilian-born Alex Poet. Now a resident of London, Alex Poet has just released his first single of 2024 with “Deezire.”
Drawing inspiration from notable figures in dance music such as Tiësto, Fred Again, and Sam Smith, “Deezire” features intricate basslines, which invoke a danceable vibe and groove-worthy summer anthem. Collaborating with Carry Lewis, whose proficiency in lyrical writing is unmatched, Alex Poet aimed for a slightly edgier (but still soulful) tone. Together, they focused on conveying a narrative that intertwines themes of love and ambition, exploring the allure of materialistic pursuits prevalent in today’s society— fame, luxury, unbridled ambition, and body dysmorphia. This multifaceted narrative captures both the edginess and soulfulness of our artistic vision, offering a poignant reflection on the complexities of modern existence.
Alex Poet was raised in the rhythmic energy of Sao Paulo and discovered his passion for electronic music at an early age. At 19, he made the life-altering decision to move to London, where the vibrant music scene became the backdrop for his dreams. Immersing himself in the city’s cultural richness, Alex honed his skills as a DJ and producer, crafting electrifying sets in underground clubs. His journey expanded into live radio, where he became a respected voice in the industry, blending Brazilian rhythms with London’s avant-garde spirit.
In the studio, Alex Poet thrives as an artist. Releases on “Let There Be House” and “Quantize” presented his good taste for a soulful groove, skilfully blended with a passion for House music and London’s spirit. Collaborating with vocal powerhouses like Inaya Day and Karmina Dai, he elevated his productions and brought his sound to global audiences. These collaborations highlighted Alex’s versatility and established him as a sought-after producer, pushing the boundaries of house music with authenticity and soul.
