With last year’s arrival of Marshmello and Selena Gomez‘s hotly anticipated dance/pop crossover track, “Wolves,” it became clear the masked producer was setting his sights on the world of commercial pop. Paired with their live performance of “Wolves” at the 2017 AMAs, fans of Marshmello began wondering if the once-enigmatic bass producer was turning his back on EDM altogether.

Mellogang can rest easy as the producer has just enlisted a bevy of dance music producers to touch up his high-profile collaboration. Included on the official remix pack is Moti, Owen Norton, Said the Sky, Sneek, Total Ape, and a standout Rusko performance that plays as a deep/future house track with hard house elements. Brooding drums, futuristic synths, and interesting vocal edits mark the sonic space of Rusko’s re-imagining of the pair’s single. Wherever the track sits along the dance music spectrum, it’s a surprisingly left-field move for the UK-dubstep producer who is largely credited with popularizing the dubstep movement in the US.
