Shlump impresses with ‘Lazer Beam’ EP on Deadbeats
Primed for a proper 8/08 day release, underground bass music extraordinaire Shlump has just unveiled his six track EP, Lazer Beam, out now via Deadbeats. Having released singles previously on Wakaan and Street Ritual, the self-proclaimed “alien bass musik” artist is known for making free form bass tracks that glean toward psybass and heavy trap productions. Currently on the Deadbeats tour roster, Shlump has decided to give Zeds Dead‘s imprint a go-round for his Lazer Beam EP — and for good reason too since the boys’ label is cherry-picking the bass scene’s most promising rising talent as of late.
With tracks that channel higher alien frequencies, such as “Higher Than a Plane” and “Top Shotta,” to heavier tracks like “Rage Automatik” and “Authentic,” the entire EP is an experiment in hard-hitting, bass pounding, heart raising bass. Whether it’s atmospheric soundscapes or deep, dark, pulsing synths listener’s seek, there is a track for every kind of bass head in Shlump’s latest and greatest project to date.
