Illenium parts ways with long time label, signs onto Astralwerks/Capitol Records
Illenium has surpassed another mile marker in ensuring the longevity of his career. The Denver-based producer has left his label, Seeking Blue. Nested under the Mr Suicide Sheep brand, Seeking Blue has been a cornerstone of the Illenium’s rise to prominence, releasing his wildly successful first two albums — Ashes and Awake, respectively. Alas, the next pillar of the producer’s burgeoning young career is marked by a decisive move to sign with Astralwerks, which falls under the Universal Music Group umbrella and Capitol Records distribution.
News of the move spread last week when Illenium’s newest release, “Take You Down,” amassed 1 billion streams online, and people began taking notice that the single donned the Astralwerks branding. Miller has not yet released a formal statement over the new contract deal, although his management team has confirmed the split and subsequent new partnership. Striking a deal with Astralwerks is a monumental next phase and new platform for the young artist, as the imprint is known for housing prime electronic/dance talent from across the music spectrum, including Empire of the Sun, Halsey, Sia, Porter Robinson, deadmau5, Mat Zo, Nervo, and The Chemical Brothers.
