Chicago’s very own The Black Madonna recently traveled to London for her Grand Theft Auto After Hours debut, streamed live on BBC Radio 1‘s airwaves as well as in virtual reality via Resident Advisor using motion capture technology. The virtual club experience was developed by Rockstar Games and featured other house and techno heavy weights in Solomun, Dixon, and Tale of Us.
The four resident DJs are in charge of Los Santos Underground Radio (LS-UR), which comes equipped with exclusive mixes from each featured artist. While her character has been unlocked, along with an immaculate track selection, it’s up to GTA users to keep the nightclub running smoothly. Rockstar Games explains the third-person VR controlled experience further:
“Global ambassador for all things house, techno and disco, The Black Madonna is bringing the groove to Los Santos this week,” they told Variety. “Keep an eye out for English Dave’s call, pick her up and bring her back to perform at your nightclub. Access the computer in your nightclub’s office for more information and to rotate between your stable of available resident DJs at any time.”
