Ekali shares debut EP release date, releases leading single with Yuna
When Ekali took to Twitter recently announcing he’d completed his debut Crystal Eyes EP, fans of the OWSLA favorite didn’t know at the time that the project would be arriving sooner than thought. Only a little over a month’s time stands between our ears and Ekali’s beautifully immersive sound scapes and his uplifting, feel-good melodies. The full EP is arriving September 28 on OWSLA/Big Beat Records.
To celebrate one such momentous occasion, Ekali has shared an exquisitely charming new tune enlisting the smooth vocals of Yuna. Titled “Leaving,” the track is all about the art of detachment and mustering the unconditional love needed to let someone go so they can find there true self. Laced with lighthearted tones, euphoric drops, and gentle chiming chords, the track centers around the song’s lyrics, which promises to take listeners on an emotional roller coaster of feelings in just under three minutes. “Leaving” will, quite literally, leave you wanting more.
Painful though it may be, fans will have to wait to hear more from the new EP when Ekali embarks on his tour this October, just after Crystal Eyes sees it’s wide release. The rising producer will have support from 1788-L, who the two recently collaborated together on a glitchy new number.
