It’s finally here: 1788-L debuts 4-track ‘SENTIENCE’ EP on Deadbeats

What started as a heavy REZZ track ID at Ultra Music Festival has now come full circle. It was the first time anyone heard the name 1788-L, a hot new producer who would soon be full of surprises. Now, after a whirlwind of summer appearances in the festival circuit, including a surprise guest appearance with Zeds Dead and surprise festival debut set at Das Energi, the enigmatic producer has released his debut EP in timely fashion.

The project, titled S E N T I E N C E, earns it’s release via Deadbeats. Having already released two tracks off the EP — “F U L L / B U R S T” and “N U / V E R / K A,” respectively — 1788-L rounds out the full EP with two more, equally heavy tracks that fall somewhere between the terrains of glitchy midtempo, DnB, electro, and experimental bass. Turns out, the two newest tracks, “F O R C E / I M P U L S E” and “A S T R A Y / R,” happen to be the two 1788-L IDs played by Zeds Dead during their Deadrocks event in July.

S E N T I E N C E is nothing short of thrilling and imaginative, pulling on threads of a cyberpunk aesthetic and a dystopian sci-fi film score. Taken as a whole, the entire project feels a lot like breaking out of the Matrix.

S E N T I E N C E marks the launch of what is sure to a skyrocketing career for the rising artist out of Dallas as he prepares to hit the road for a jam-packed fall schedule with stops in 14 US cities. Joining collaborators REZZ and Ekali as official support on their respective tours, 1788-L makes a final stop at Dallas’ Lights All Night festival for an exciting hometown throw down.
