The Chainsmokers and NGHTMRE release eery music video for ‘Save Yourself’

The Chainsmokers recently teamed up with buddy NGHTMRE to release “Save Yourself” to much praise. The single marked a return to the electronic dance realm that initially made The Chainsmokers so popular. Now, the three have released the single’s official music video

While the overall intention of the video is rather unclear, it is nothing if not creative and mysteriously entertaining. Directed by Rory Kramer, also known as ThatOneBlondKid, the music video is a low budget take on an apocalyptic horror film, showcasing a shirtless Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers as he sings to an at-home security camera, presumably up in some Hollywood Hills mansion. He is dressed in war paint and ragged jeans, and an arsenal of assault weapons, as if some terrorist threat has hit the city of Angels. The video’s final moments pan across the LA skyline to show a burning HOLLYWOOD sign, along with massive clouds of smoke and debris from multiple fires going off in the city. Eery, to say the least.

The “Save Yourself” video arrives just days before The Chainsmokers is set to embark on their next collaborative effort with country music star Kelsea Ballerini.
