San Holo surprises with one last release off his long-awaited debut ‘album1’
San Holo‘s has delivered his fifth and final single release off his forthcoming debut album 1, which is out this Friday on bitbird. The Dutch producer took to Instagram today to share a new single in the form of a lo-fi tinged IDM track called “Surface.”
The track features a gorgeous electric guitar lead in that builds supremely towards a bouncy 4-to-the-floor drop that encourages listeners to get down as the melody lifts them high off the ground. Arriving as a collaboration with post-rock band Caspian, the single falls into the similar sounding wheelhouse of his previously released singles, “worthy” and “lift me off the ground.” There’s certainly a steady sonic theme running through the artist’s last five singles — and if this signals a turn towards a different sounding wheelhouse for San Holo, then we can’t wait to see what the full 12-track LP has in store.
