Marshmello wins Favorite EDM Artist at 2018 American Music Awards

Love him or hate him, Marshmello is one of the world’s most recognizable producers in dance music today. If a polarizing personality and an iconic gimmick is the recipe for success in today’s highly commercialized pop culture climate, then the bucket head DJ takes the cake.

With the American Music Awards (AMAs) taking place last night, Marshmello was the 2018 recipient of the “Favorite Artist” award in the Electronic Dance Music category. The Chainsmokers and Zedd were also two other household names nominated for the same category. The EDM category was one of 29 awards given at the 2018 AMAs, with Taylor Swift taking home more awards than any other artist of the night, including “Artist of the Year,” “Tour of the Year,” and “Favorite Female Artist” in the Pop/Rock category.

Notable performances of the night came from Taylor Swift, Cardi B, Twenty One Pilots, and many more. Post Malone, Camila Cabella, Sean Mendez, Migos, BTS, and Carrie Underwood were among the evening’s other winners of the night.
