Ellie Goulding teams up with Diplo & Swae Lee on radio-ready collab, ‘Close to Me’

Dance music’s favorite vocalist is back.

Although Ellie Goulding has certainly remained in the spotlight, most recently on her collaboration with Kygo, “First Time,” it’s actually been quite some time since she has given fans a solo original.

Now the “Lights” singer is returning to center stage with a radio-ready single, upon which she’s enlisted the help of Diplo and Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee. “Close to Me” is an audacious love song set against the backdrop of catchy lyrics and an acoustic guitar melody. Goulding and Lee swap rebelliously smooth verses while Diplo lays down low key electronic beats.

It’s Goulding’s second time working with Diplo, following her 2015 single, “Powerful,” with Major Lazer.
