G REX’s first solo EP on WAKAAN provides a ‘Rift’ in time and space
If the name G-REX isn’t on your radar yet, then it’s high time you’ve recalibrated your bass music odometer. The Detroit native has already released on Ultra Records and Buygore, and his tunes are being featured in rotation on Excision, Ekali, and Kill The Noise‘s sets. Following up in a massively successful collaboration with PEEKABOO in “Babatunde,” WAKAAN newcomer G-REX now returns to Liquid Stranger’s imprint with his solo RIFT EP.
A four track smasher, the RIFT EP features ferocious sound design, quirky
breakdowns, and blood curdling riffs that span the extra-terrestrial realms of experimental bass and trap. From the ominous overtones and playful breaks of the Dubloadz-assisted “Leviathan” to time-bending sound design on title track “Rift,” G-REX’s newest project proves he is one weird and wonderful newcomer that is ushering in a new era of cold blooded bass.
