LA-based songstress Elohim has taken 2018 by storm. Since releasing her self-titled debut album earlier this year, she’s built a catalog with collaborations alongside some of dance music’s most in-demand artists. She was featured on Ekali’s debut Crystal Eyes EP as well as Louis The Child‘s Kids At Play EP. Her single with The Glitch Mob, “I Could Be Anything,” also got remixed by REZZ on the See Without Eyes Deluxe album.
Now she’s teamed with Skrillex to co-produce her newest track, “Connect,” and she’s released the single on OWSLA. While the track features Sonny Moore’s expert sound design, “Connect” is purely Elohim. The single is characterized by light-hearted synths, dreamy drum pads, and Elohim’s warming melody resounding, “I’m just here to connect with you.”
The music video also provides the perfect other-worldly accompaniment to Elohim’s newest feel-good bop too, featuring a cartoonish version of herself meeting up with a quirky extra-terrestrial as they explore far off planets together. Elohim offers a few words of wisdom on the song’s inspiration below.
