Marshmello & Bastille make BBC’s Live Lounge a little bit ‘Happier’ [WATCH]

A strong marker of success for musical artists these days comes at the moment when they are invited to join the BBC Live Lounge. The British radio station has hosted Ariana Grande, Halsey, The Chainsmokers, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, and many more pop/dance icons.

With a chart-topping hit on their hands in “Happier,” Marshmello and UK band Bastille hit the BBC studio recently to perform an emotional rendition of their hopeful break-ip ballad. The live session featured a full string quartet to heighten the occasion, with Marshmello on the keys and frontman Dan Smith leading the on-air recording on the mic with his painstaking lyrics.

The powerful recording comes only days after the pair performed the heartbreak pop ballad at MTV’s European Music Awards and one day after appearing on Good Morning America. “Happier” has enjoyed four straight weeks atop Billboard‘s Dance/Electronic chart, and recently peaked at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Alternative chart.
