Mixcloud launches low-price subscription model
As a long-touted rival to SoundCloud in the streaming wars, UK-based music streaming platform Mixcloud has launched a new low-priced, fan-to-creator subscription tier that may just give streaming competitors a run for its money.
The new service, called Mixcloud Select, gives users enhanced ad-free access, offline listening, and the ability to view full track listing upfront. All on a low-cost price model plan that still contributes to royalties and licensing fees.
Unlike Spotify, Amazon Prime, and Apple Music, listeners don’t subscribe to Mixcloud’s full music offering but directly to individual curators and DJs, who set their own price, starting as low as $2.99 a month.
View the list of supporting artists already on board with the platform rollout, including Afrojack, Oliver Heldens, Axtone, Eats Everything, Nicole Moudaber, and more.
