Movement Detroit reveals first round of line-up with hot underground talent

May in Detroit is the best place to be in the world — at least for house and techno aficionados. Why? As the United States’ premiere underground festival, the industry’s top elites converge onto Detroit’s riverfront Hart Plaza for Movement Detroit.

As something to wet the pallet, organizers have pulled back the curtain on a select handful of next year’s talent, including Chris LakeHot Since 82, Detroit-native Danny Brown, and Belgium techno sensation Amelie Lens.

has long acted as a summertime commencement in Detroit–the techno promised land–as well as a harbinger of the annual electronic festival season at large. The 2019 installment will also see live acts from Stephan Bozdin, Floorplan, and Orbital, who will not only be making their Movement live debut but also gracing the so-claimed “birthplace of techno” for the first time in over two decades.

Last year’s momentous lineup spanned the spectrums of house, techno, hip-hop, and experimental electronica terrain. Now the ten released acts are just a small taste of what is to come from the established three-day event.

Movement Electronic Music Festival takes place Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27, 2019. Tickets are on sale now.
