Astralwerks and Ninja’s star-studded ‘Ninjawerks (Vol. 1)’ has finally landed
Extreme gamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is bridging the divide between the gaming and electronic music worlds. The Twitch star has teamed up with Astralwerks on the first volume (of many more to come) on the Ninjawerks compilation series, featuring the world’s biggest electronic acts. Fittingly, the album’s contributors are gamers themselves.
Volume One has been masterfully teased over the past few weeks, with three rounds of single releases: First, from Alesso, Tycho, and 3LAU, next in Nero’s first recording in over two years, and a final drop off from Dillon Francis and Kaskade. Now the full 12-track roll out features new offerings from Tiesto, NOTD, CRAY, Ducky, and ARTY. The latter two artists’ contributions were even featured in The Friday Wrangler.
In a recent Forbes interview detailing how Ninjawerks Vol. 1 came together, Blevins said the music not only helps boost his gaming potential but is “really a set of soundtracks to parts of his life.” After initial discussions between Astralwerks, Blevins gave the label his wish list of artists for the project. “When they came back with the list of musicians that I wanted and who wanted to be on the record, I couldn’t believe it,” Ninja told Forbes.
“We’re so proud of the artists for wanting to be a part of such a forward-thinking idea, and ultimately for making some incredible music,” addd Astralwerks General Manager Toby Andrews in a press statement. “It was a real pleasure to be able to help Tyler bring his vision of a gaming soundtrack to life with such a range of talent and we’re excited for everyone to be able to enjoy it and game away!”
