With the surmounting anticipation of DejaVoom reaching critical levels, bassheads are two days away from descending onto Playa del Carmen, Mexico for the first-ever international Bassnectar gathering. On the heels of the event, Lorin Ashton’s audio-visual team have released a heartwarming Year In Review video over their socials.

While bass heads routinely get a bad rap from those on the outside looking in, members inside of the community know it’s all just a bunch of noise. Showcasing the true ethos of the Bassnectar movement, the video covers ground from all four Bassnectar-curated events— from Spring Gathering in Chicago and Colorado Freestyle Sessions to BassCenter XI in Hampton and The Return of 360 in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Along the way, bass heads are shown getting involved in the community via charity events, political protests, and voting polls, while recapping the seasonal celebrations at every family gathering. But these are more than rambunctious celebrations, they are spaces of unconditional love and acceptance, protest over the “default” world, and spiritual worship. See for yourself.
