Icarus creates an infectious vibe on 4-track ‘This Must Be The Place’ EP

Indietronica act Icarus has recently shared an infectious new project in This Must Be The Place. The 4-track EP is composed of their signature deep house soundscapes fused with hypnotic and alluring melodies, mesmerizing angelic vocal drone, spoken word depth, and harmonious rhythms. The UK-based duo began gaining more visibility after being featured as support for RÜFÜS DU SOL‘s North American SOLACE tour.

The first two tracks, “Echoes” and “Man of the Land,” have a progressive club feel which captures a danceable groove through basslines as percussive hits mesh through crescendo effects. “Sirens” and “Running Away” bring an experimental feel to their soundscape by giving more ambient reflections and emotive lyrical insertions, which questions the existence of both oneself and oneself through another.

In bringing their vocalists on tour, Icarus adds a live dimension to their overall performance which goes beyond the DJ set format. With eight years of dedicated hard work, there’s a clear upward climb in store for this duo full of creative pourings.
