Tame Impala makes triumphant return with aptly-titled track, ‘Patience’
A group once thriving in the underground has now made their way main stage across the world. Tame Impala, the psychedelic indie rock group from Australia, has rapidly grown in popularity over the last couple of years following the release of their last album Currents, in 2015. Kevin Parker is the mastermind and face of the group who writes, produces, and performs all of the music live with occasional help from bandmates.
The group has gained traction within the American music festival scene, picking up gigs at Float Fest, Pitchfork Music Fest, and Treasure Island throughout 2018. Tame Impala released collaborations with several well-known artists including Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, and ZHU, but no sign of a new album in sight.
Tame Impala released their first single in four years “Patience,” with quite an amusing comeback title. The vocals by Parker are riveting with the theme centered around “time waits for no one,” making listeners eager for the new album confirmed for later this year. The track is certainly on par with the group’s established sound, complete with a beautiful melody created by acoustic drums and disco-inspired synths. It seems as though Parker is experimenting with a new fusion of psychedelic rock.
The budding group has an impressive year ahead with headlining spots at Coachella and Lollapalooza as well as Osheaga Festival in Canada. The band is also hitting more stops than ever on their early 2019 tour around North America and Europe.
Striving to inspire others to live consciously and think abundantly.
