Dog Blood release their first single in six years, Skrillex confirms three more tracks in the works

In 2012, Dog Blood burst through the dance music seams with an unprecedented EP that married Skrillex‘s harder style with Boys Noize‘s iconic brand of house. A half decade later, Dog Blood returns with a newly envisioned tech-infused bass tune, titled “Turn Off The Lights.”

The track itself slaps through the speakers, with pulsating kicks, distorted synths, and acidic house samples leading the way. There’s never a dull moment, with the track taking unexpected twists and turns as the two blend their past oeuvre with future sounds. It’s a taste of what’s to come in Dog Blood’s rumored forthcoming EP, which to this point does not have an official release date.

All in all, the track’s release is extremely well-timed given how the duo takes to the Ultra mainstage tonight, which viewers can tune into via UMF TV‘s live stream at 11:40pm ET. Additionally, Skrillex has confirmed more new Dog Blood music is in the works in a recent tweet, which read the two have “about 3 more proper Dog Blood songs we are trying to finish this week.” It’s safe to say 2019 is the year of Dog Blood.

Listen to “Turn Off The Lights” and read Skrillex’s tweet in context below.
