Gryffin & Aloe Blacc pay tribute to late Avicii on latest single, ‘Hurt People’

When Gryffin brought out Aloe Blacc during his Coachella set at the Sahara tent last month, the two came together for a beautiful live tribute of Avicii‘s “Wake Me Up,” featuring Blacc himself. It was the one year anniversary of the late producer’s death and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place.

Now the EDM producer/multi-instrumentalist and Avicii collaborator have released a single together to honor the legendary dance music icon forever. The track, aptly-titled “Hurt People,” goes into a deeply metaphorical commentary on Tim Bergling/Avicii’s untimely death, with lyrics that almost call up Avicii himself singing out the feelings inside which lead to his own suicide. The track is an Avicii tribute, through and through.

Give the official lyric video a watch below to feel the full gravity of the song’s lyrical power.
