Illenium to host album listening party + live chat for Friday’s ‘ASCEND’ release

It seems Nick Miller is following in the footsteps of REZZ with an online listening party for his incoming ASCEND LP, who’s slated release is swiftly approaching via Astralwerks. Miller took to his socials under his Illenium alias to announce the event will be taking place over the internet waves this Friday, August 16.

Previously, Illenium uncovered ASCEND‘s full tracklist, revealing a vocal-led project with features from Georgia Ku, Echos, Annika Wells, X Ambassadors, Gekiin, Bipolar Sunshine, Anna Clendening, and Chandler Leighton. They join a list of vocal collaborators on the already-released singles teased from the album, including “Pray” with Kameron Alexander, “Take You Down,” “Crashing” with Bahari, “Good Things Fall Apart” with Jon Bellion, “Takeaway” with The Chainsmokers and Lennon Stella, and “Blood” with Foy Vance.

The virtual listening party format is such a uniquely suited way for electronic music artists to engage with their fanbase in a highly-personalized way. After all, with music that is already so reliant on computers, why not meet the fans where they already re? Fans will want to head to Illenium’s official YouTube channel to take part in the release party.
